Born in Caernarfon in 1933, where he still lives and paints,
William Selwyn studied at Bangor College and taught in Caernarfon until he retired in
1990 to become a full time painter. His work is intensely atmospheric and
revolves around the landscapes of Gwynedd, local farm workers, fishermen on the
Menal Straits and also scenes of Venice where he visits frequently. "I believe William Selwyn to be one of Wales's finest Watercolourists. It is wonderful to see how his painting has just blossomed since he retired from teaching. It is atmospheric and highly accomplished work". | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
